Why is it sustainable?

The ODGER chair is made of a mix of recycled plastic and wood coming from sustainably managed forests. In this respect, IKEA is on a journey to make all its wood-based products more sustainable. It has announced that – by 2020 – all wood will be either recycled or FSC certified. Even more, IKEA is committed to making sustainable wood mainstream and – through its collaboration with WWF – it has already contributed to increasing FSC certified forests by over 85 million acres in Europe and Asia.
In order to streamline the product even more, IKEA has conceived a clever assembly method where legs and seat are simply clicked together, without the need for tools or screws.
