René
Side Table

by Salvatori
Why is it sustainable?
René is a bistrot table made with stone scraps.
It is part of Lost Stones, an initiative aimed at breathing new life into old stone leftovers by gluing them together using Kintsugi (a traditional Japanese technique that uses golden lacquer to repair broken pottery).
Besides using otherwise forgotten materials, this project welcomes “imperfections” in a high-end design piece. This breaks the luxury = opulence paradigm, introducing a mindset shift that can only benefit the industry in the transition towards more sustainable standards.
