Sola

Pendant lamp by David Trubridge

Why is it sustainable?

The Sola pendant lamp is made of bamboo plywood, that is produced with E0 glue to avoid formaldehyde emissions.
Bamboo is inherently a sustainable material: it grows fast and thrives without needing pesticides, fertilizers or herbicides. Even more, all bamboo used by David Trubridge is a "secondary product", which means it is sourced from sustainably managed forests grown as a food source.
Besides producing sustainable lighting products, David Trubridge has a comprehensive approach to sustainability. All lights are sold disassembled to save on shipping costs. Production is powered with renewable energy and all waste produced in the factory is carefully sorted and sent to recycling. For instance, sawdust is upcycled to generate electricity.
