Why is it sustainable?
Avani is a blanket made of 100% eri-silk. Also known as peace silk, this silk is extracted with a technique that doesn't kill the worm (as it happens with regular silk). Cultivated in villages, it is handspun, naturally dyed and handwoven in India.
Besides producing sustainable textiles, Annaloom also embraces ethical production practices. Reviving hand-weaving traditions and creating fair work for skilled weavers, it helps to improve the economic conditions of entire rural communities in India, Laos and Cambodia.
