Why is it sustainable?
Avani is a blanket made of 100% eri-silk. Also known as peace silk, this silk is extracted with a technique that doesn't kill the worm (as it happens with regular silk). Cultivated in rural villages, it is handspun, naturally dyed and handwoven in India.
Reviving hand-weaving traditions and creating fair work for skilled weavers, Annaloom helps to improve the economic conditions of entire rural communities in India, Laos and Cambodia.
