BERGPALM

Bed Linen

by IKEA

Why is it sustainable?

The BERGPALM bed linen is made of 100% cotton. The fabric is non-chlorine bleached and no optical brightening is used.

Overall, IKEA has switched to a more sustainable policy for cotton. It uses either recycled cotton, or sources it from areas where it's grown more sustainably. This includes growing cotton with less water, fertilisers and pesticides and in a way that increases margins for the farmers. Even more, IKEA is committed to making sustainable cotton mainstream and is organizing hands-on training and field schools to spread the knowledge about sustainable farming methods.
