VISTOFT
Rug

by IKEA
Why is it sustainable?
VISTOFT is a runner made with a mix of 90% sisal and 10% jute and finished with a cotton edge.
These material choices make this rug sustainable from more than one perspective.
Sisal and jute are both extremely hard-wearing materials. Eliminating the need for a backing layer while allowing the runner to have the same pattern on both sides, this means that the same runner can be flipped upside down and used for twice as long. A clever example of the circular economy principle keeping products and materials in use.
