Hammam

Blanket

by Weaver Green

Why is it sustainable?

Hammam is a sustainable blanket made recycling plastic bottles, with approximately 300 bottles needed to make one single blanket!

Making yarn from plastic bottles entails cutting, melting and spinning the plastic. At Weaver Green, all yarn is coloured with non-toxic dyes. Also – being constructed from long fibres – it’s less prone to shredding and releases fewer microfibres during washes.

Besides making sustainable textiles, Weaver Green is committed to environment-friendly & ethical production methods.
Yarn production & dying are performed in a closed water system that refilters and reuses the same water over and over again. Also, the water needed for dying is heated in a low emission boiler powered by burning recycled wheat & rice husks.
All Weaver Green’s products are hand-loomed by artisans throughout Europe, Scandinavia and Asia, whose working conditions are inspected to ensure safety and fairness.
